Baby Feet Facts
- Baby feet grow quickly during the first years, perhaps going through 3 or 4 sizes. During the second year, the growth slows down just a bit, where baby feet may go through 2 or 3 sizes.
- Baby feet exert a lot of energy, when standing and balancing. This causes baby feet to get very hot. Baby feet can sweat up to twice the amount of adult feet.
- Babies may appear to be flat footed and this is normal. A layer of fat fills out the arches. This layer will usually disappear by the end of the toddler years.
- Most experts agree that bare feet is best for your baby, up until they start standing and walking.
Baby Shoes Facts
Baby experts agree, that baby shoes should have -
- Soles that are flat, flexible and non-slip.
- Uppers that are made with a lightweight & breathable material.
- Roomy toe boxes to allow the toes to wiggle freely.
Other important things to consider when buying baby shoes -
- When selecting the size, make sure there is ½" extra between the big toe and the end of the shoe.
- When determining the width of shoes, consider both the width and girth(thickness) of the feet.
- Closure preferences vary. Velcro fasteners are the easiest for parents, with no undone laces to trip over. If laces are preferred, they should be double knotted or secured with lace locks.
- There is no consensus on the value of the traditional leather high tops. Some experts believe this type of baby shoe, may actually restrict the baby's ankle movements.

During our quality control process, we glue the interior parts of the squeaker and then glue the squeaker into the shoe, for your child's safety.
When squeakers are taken out and put back in, often, the rubbery friction disappears. Once this happens, the squeakers will pop out on their own, presenting a potential choking hazard.
When buying any squeaky shoes, always INSIST on glued in squeakers.
To temporarily disable, put a piece of tape over the squeaker. To permanently disable, put a drop of glue into the squeaker.
Like our styles, but don't want the squeak? No problem, just select the "No Squeak" option and we will disable the squeakers permanently.
